Established in 2014, the Learning Garden offers hands-on opportunities to explore a wide range of sustainable gardening practices using garden themes including-vegetable gardening, waterwise garden, pollinator habitat, a bioswale, spiral herb garden, PNW native plants, deer resistant plants, perennial companion plants, espalier fruit trees, edible landscape, and berries, grapes and other small fruit and an adjacent pioneer herb garden focusing on heirloom varieties. Garden-goers can also learn about mason bee habitat and keyhole compost garden beds as a way of feeding your growing vegetables while making compost. The garden is always open to the public when the Jenkins Estate is open and is staffed by Master Gardeners on Thursday mornings from 10am to 1pm.
