Our two-acre garden was a slope of invasive weeds when we purchased the property in 2000. After three years of living with all the scotch broom, ivy and vinca, we decided it was time for a MAJOR backyard remodel in 2003. Landscape architect Michael Schultz created a beautiful design that pulled the house and the garden together, taming the slope with a number of terraces for entertaining and a much better connection to the garden. Mature evergreen trees, 50-year-old rhododendrons, an eight-bed raised vegetable garden and plenty of year-round color make up this collector's garden. The best time to visit the garden is in May, June, July or August. The house was completely remodeled and a new front patio courtyard designed by Laura Crockett, the Garden Diva, was added in July, 2015. Please wear comfortable shoes to maneuver the many stairways and paths. You're welcome to come visit with at least a one week notice.
