Thirty years ago I started creating The Salvia Garden. Many of you have visited before but since my last open garden much has changed. The driveway garden is now becoming a mostly southern hemisphere garden with plants from below the equator. As you leave the Driveway Garden down the path towards the back gate, you will notice to the right of the path is a hosta garden and on the left is the new blue and orange garden. The plants here have either blue or orange flowers or foliage. As you enter the back garden through the black gate you might notice the slight scent of sage from all the different salvias. The garden consists of island beds and borders, all separated by gravel patios or pathways. These gravel areas delineate the three garden rooms: The Greenhouse Room, The Central Patio, and The Round Garden Room (aka The Red Garden). The first two receive mostly full sun. Here you will find a variety of salvias and Mediterranean plants. The Round Garden is mostly shade with a variety of shade-loving plants. I finally started work on the front garden and parking strip this spring. I'm slowly working my way from west to east taking out shrubs, then I'll replant. The Garden is located at: 2557 S. Dogwood St. Cornelius OR
