Overlooking the Stephen's Creek natural area, our 5200 sq ft garden is about 14 years old. With a combination of sun and shade, the garden wraps around the house to a terraced slope above Stephen's Creek. Winter flowering shrubs and evergreens provide winter appeal, giving way to our interest in subtropicals, hydrangeas, and variegated plants. Clematis weave their way through Japanese maples and arbors with climbing roses. The lowest terrace is planted with espaliered apple trees, a dwarf gold-stripe bamboo and red Japanese maples. On the slope leading down to Stephen's Creek are a variety of New Zealand, Australian and California species. A variety of deck containers and fountains complete the garden.
