Plant Names are Overwhelming Enough
I have been observing, studying, collecting, growing and eating plants for most of my life, with a 25 year career as a steward in public gardens. My garden reflects my passion, curiosity and scientific interest of plants along with their unique inhabits. Currently there are well 450 species/cultivars of plants in the collection’s, the majority having permanent public labels. The gardens site is a great mixture of sun to deep shade with an area of ephemeral wetlands. The 1/3 acre garden’s most recent history began 6 years ago as it was then carved out of a ticket of coastal shrubs inter-tangled with blackberry’s and English ivy. During the renovation process I discovered the property was situated on an ancient sand dune therefore requiring a never ending soil building process. Due to the sandy profile there is some supplemental irrigation. There are niches to rest upon and a big deck with chairs overlooking a wetland making the site great for bird enthusiasts. Bathroom is available.
