Mossdale

Years ago, after being discouraged by a divorce, I was thinking I should just sell out. At that very moment, two ladies rode past on bicycles, and you could hear one say to the other, “My God, did you see that place?” The other answered, “Yes,I know!”. The house was built at Bonneville for the dam project, floated downstream for war housing, and was moved again to a berry farm. This acre is coursed by gentle paths that curve through rooms of shade-loving plants to a circular pond surrounded by a patio of brick and then thru fir and cedar to a tree house. The garden is embraced by wisterias, perennial beds, a spacious lawn, a vegetable garden, berries and fruit trees, and a gazebo to sit and contemplate (who has time?). Scavenged brick with flagstone (quarried off Mt. Hood) create walkways that pull you through the garden. The garden is a testimonial to perseverance, perceptive recycling and obsessive behaviors. P.S. If you like antique cars you’ll enjoy even more.
