Dan has MOVED! Dan's new 1/2-acre garden is a culmination of 45 years of mad plant collecting with a modicum of common-sense design. Over 1300 plants, shrubs, and trees made the move in January 2022. There is a water feature with 9 huge koi, Japanese maples, rare trees and shrubs, and unusual perennials and woodlanders from around the world. A patio leads to a rock/crevice garden. A vegetable garden grows adjacent to my bocce court. The front beds are dominated by a 75 year old Photinia tree and are filled with hostas, perennials, a daylily collection and bog plants. The garden has a raised bed area along the fences and plants are stuffed wherever possible. Gravel pathways lead visitors to berms filled with plants and to waterfall above the koi pond, ringed with carnivorous and bog plants. A row of giant redwoods and spruce line the rear of the property. Come explore the nooks and crannies which conceal many a one-of-a-kind treasures. Photographers are welcome an hour earlier (please mind your tripods). Notable genera: heuchera (duh!), pulmonaria, hemerocallis, heucherella, tiarella, cyclamen, arisaema, asarum, podophyllum, ferns, hosta, disporum, polygonatum, trillium, penstemon, dicentra, paris, primula, and begonia. A new greenwall is being planted this April with a Tuberous Begonia collection in an automated lath house.
