Set in a mid-century Douglas Fir grove near Clackamas Community College, this twenty-year old two-acre garden features west coast natives, woodland shade lovers and exotic hybrids. Paved paths wind near tall Tetrapanx papyrifer, Trocodendron araliodes, Illicium floridanum and several varieties of Calycanthus. In June, Korean dogwoods, rhododendrons, late viburnums and other blooming specimens brighten the predominant shades of green while sculpture and architectural elements provide year around interest. Those who choose, can sit on a bench in a secluded spot to absorb the sounds of wind, insects and birds.
