Our garden has slowly evolved over the last 23 years. As with many country properties, it has a conifer-lined perimeter. This Northwest style garden has an Asian influence and is filled with rare and unusual plants, predominantly conifers of all varieties, colors and shapes, ginkgos, dogwoods and Japanese maples. Many plants in our garden are contorted or weeping. But my plant addiction also includes a collection of lilies, peonies, clematis, daphnes, rhododendrons and other shrubs and perennials. Meandering pathways lead to a pond with a waterfall, a covered bridge over a dry creek bed, a fire pit area with boulders for seating, several woodland walks, an outdoor kitchen and a guest house. The informality of this garden evokes a feeling of relaxation and welcomes everyone who enters.
