Linda Rectanus Garden

I have a large country garden with mixed borders, in a forest setting, in the hills north of Camas. Barry Gates is opening his garden the same day – about 15 minutes away. The Camas Plant and Garden Fair is also that day so you can make it a full day visiting our area! I have lots of old favorites including roses, hostas, iris, fuchsias, clematis, hardy geraniums, and camellias, with perennials, shrubs, trees, and a nice variety of groundcovers. There are many garden rooms, with some still being developed, and some revised as conditions (and my preferences) change. Scarcity of water, high elevation, browsing animals, and burrowing rodents are my challenges! The plants you will see are the ones which have proven resilient; they don’t get pampered! I like contrast in color and texture and enjoy combining plants accordingly.
