My small backyard garden has been described as having a “French” or “cottage” look. In 2017 when I moved in, I built a rock garden at the curved edge of my concrete patio and filled it with Lewisia, erodium, penstemon, armeria, Aubrieta, sedum, etc. Step stones allow for a walk through an array of other plants that provide bursts of color throughout the summer.
