Our 20 year old, half acre garden is fairly flat around the 1896 Queen Anne Victorian house (named "The Cosmos" a half-century ago), with the rest a sloping canyon. There is a large paver patio, hot tub and surrounding beds, a shade hut, hummingbird feeders, terraced beds for annuals, concrete curbed beds, rose garden, and an arbutus menziesii grove. Trees, shrubs, ground covers are mainly low maintenance--Trachycarpus fortunei, T. wagnerianus, Cryptomeria japonica, rhodies (common & special), Cedrus deodarus, Acer 'Sango-kaku', Albezia 'Summer Chocolate', Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Ophiopogon planiscus 'Nigrescens', Poincirus trifoliata, bamboo, Mahonia. Various art works are hopefully an addition and not a distraction.
