Evie Hausman Garden
Come see how we transformed a small, ordinary, builder-landscaped lot to a pocket of beauty. In the fall of 2010, we removed the front lawn and added “terrain” with imported soil. We created year-round interest with an assortment of new and old favorites: perennials, herbs and shrubs in purple, pink, chartreuse and yellow. A stone path winds through the bed to a small seating area. Our narrow side yard became a passageway garden featuring predominately white variegated shrubs, perennials and vines. Our backyard is a patio garden, which we turned into a lush, almost tropical hideaway. A small bubbling fountain and birdbath attract wildlife year-round, especially hummingbirds. Fuchsias establish the color scheme of purple and red. Don’t forget to explore next door, the wonderful garden of Lynn Lustberg.
