This is a newish garden and very much a work in progress -- I started with a double lot full of weedy lawn and a tremendous amount of unnecessary concrete nearly six years ago, and it's constantly being improved and changed. It's also definitely a collector's garden...I love buying plants and have a weakness for anything that's new to me so I think of it more as a crazy assortment of plants than a designed garden. That said, it has a decidedly tropical feel overall -- lots of bananas, cannas, bamboo, etc. The middle portion of the backyard is shared with three canine companions and all the challenges they bring so it's geared more around them with a patch of lawn, but they'll be safely inside for the tour. There's also a greenhouse, a chicken coop, a bathroom bog full of carnivorous plants, an edible/native area, a native urbanite crevice garden, some garden art, and tons of plants in containers, In short, beautiful chaos!
